NATO Emergency Management Exercise “BULGARIA 2025”

NATO has 20+ years of experience in organising civilian-led emergency management exercises.

These have reached 10,000+ professionals.

And are among the world’s largest emergency management training events.

The 20th NATO Emergency Management Exercise, BULGARIA 2025, will take place in Bulgaria from 7 to 12 September 2025.

It is organised by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and the Ministry of Interior of Bulgaria. The exercise will take place at several exercise sites in Montana (some 150km from Bulgaria’s capital Sofia), including in the state-of-the art International Training Centre for first responders.

This complex exercise will focus on enhancing resilience, improving disaster preparedness, and fostering civil-military cooperation in emergency response.

Participants from NATO Allies, partner nations, and international organizations come together to enhance their ability to respond effectively to a large-scale, complex emergency.

Exercise preparations are underway. The Final Planning Conference will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, between 20 and 23 May 2025.
